If it makes any difference, today is my birthday and what I’d like for my birthday is for you to take this survey;  if you manufacture and sell wood pellets that is. Survey responses will remain confidential and the information will be presented only in aggregate. The survey results will be featured in the September/October issue of Pellet Mill Magazine in which we are focusing on distribution and distribution infrastructure.

The survey looks at how you get your product to market. We start at on-site storage and work all the way through ways you are currently managing the distribution of your product. We worked with our editorial board on the questions and I’m really looking forward to seeing the results.

This survey is part and parcel of what we aim to do each and every day at Biomass Magazine and Pellet Mill Magazine. In early 2015 we decided, as a team, to try and double our annual conversations with producers and revitalize our editorial board. It is fair to say that every week, someone on our team is talking to a producer. We might be confirming plant data, working on a feature, looking for vendor sources for an article or, in this case, asking for an opinion about potential survey questions. 

For this survey to have any value, however, depends upon a large number of responses. I’d be thrilled with 50. 100 and I'd be over the moon. If you could do me a favor and take this survey, or forward this on to the appropriate person within your facility I would certainly appreciate it.
