Acciona, Repsol sign global biodiesel production agreement

Repsol YPF and Acciona, two Spanish energy companies, have sealed a framework agreement for the construction and development of biodiesel plants throughout Europe, which could produce more than 1 million tons per year. The estimated investment could exceed 300 million euros. Acciona is a renewable energy company with holdings in various sectors, including wind, biofuels and solar power. Repsol YPF is a Spanish petroleum blender touted as the largest user of ethanol in Europe. n
