Algae demo plant grand opening scheduled for Nov. 17 in Fla.

Tampa, Fla.-based Culturing Solutions will host the grand opening of its algae-to-biofuel demonstration plant in New Port Richey, Fla., on Nov. 17. The company says it will produce transportation fuel, energy, nutritional products, cosmetics, medicine and other household items from algae.
Culturing Solutions will use carbon dioxide from industrial gases to grow the algae.
“The use of a waste product in the form of carbon dioxide combined with Culturing Solutions’ algae process and our revolutionary pump technology increases algal growth a remarkable 300 percent,” said Founder and CEO of Culturing Solutions, Dean Tsoupis. “Our goal is to maximize the production of algae for use as an alternative fuel source so that America can be less dependent on fossil fuels—now and into the future. It’s a big idea, and we’re up for the challenge.”

The grand opening event will be held on Nov. 17 at 9831 Mendel Drive, New Port Richey, Fla.
This is Culturing Solutions’ first demonstration plant in Florida. Its technologies are being used in Florida, Rhode Island, Australia, Romania, Hungary and Russia.
