Allegro Biodiesel invests in CPC

January 17, 2008

Los Angeles-based biodiesel producer and distributor Allegro Biodiesel Corp. has invested $1 million and acquired a minority stake in privately held Community Power Corp., a developer of modular bioenergy technology and products in Littleton, Colo. The deal, which follows an extended $500,000 bridge loan to CPC, gives Allegro access to CPC's biomass gasification technologies that generate power and heat. CPC's technologies would also produce biobased synthetic fuels that replace fossil fuels such as natural gas, propane and diesel, according to Allegro Chief Executive Officer Bruce Comer.
