Wisconsin-based biodiesel producer Best Energies Inc. has come to a carbon credit agreement for its renewable fuel production and technology. According to a news release from Carbon Green LLC and Environmental Credit Corp. (ECC), Best Energies subsidiary Best Biodiesel Cashton LLC will work with Carbon Green and ECC on the related protocol development needed to make the agreement work.

Best Biodiesel Cashton is an 8 MMgy facility at Cashton, Wis., that can use crude corn oil in its process to produce biodiesel. The advantage to this development, according to the company, is that ethanol producers will be able to create additional revenue from their use of corn and also reduce the plant's overall greenhouse gas emissions and improve its net energy profile.

Specific details of the agreement have not been released.
