Bioenergy DevCo receives $106 million investment, buys BTS Biogas

Bioenergy DevCo announced Aug. 8 it has received a $106 million investment from Newlight Partners LP to grow anaerobic digestion (AD) technology in North America. The following day, the company announced the acquisition of BTS Biogas.
Information released by Bioenergy DevCo indicates the company has already developed more than 200 AD plants throughout the world. The $106 million investment from Newlight Partners will be used to expand the company’s operational footprint in North America, working with municipalities and corporations to develop AD facilities that convert organic waste into renewable natural gas (RNG) and an organic soil amendment.

“The support from Newlight Partners, allows Bioenergy DevCo to offer a full turnkey solution to cities and corporations challenged by incineration, already crowded landfills and the cost of disposing of organic waste, ”said Shawn Kreloff, founder and CEO of Bioenergy DevCo. “In working with Newlight, we address the strong and increasing demand for our anaerobic digestion technology, which is proven to naturally transform organic waste into clean, renewable natural gas, in a way that meets the unique needs of municipalities and companies around the country.”
On Aug. 9, BioEnergy DevCo announced it has acquired BTS Biogas, which will operate as an affiliate and enable new operation and expansion of anaerobic digestion in North America. BTS Biogas is headquartered in Italy. Bioenergy DevCO said the acquisition will it to increase BTS Biogas’ technology footprint in North America.
