March 1, 2005

Colorado-based Blue Sun Biodiesel commissioned its Alamosa, Colo., blending terminal Feb. 11, according to Blue Sun Director John Long. He also said a skid-mounted biodiesel production unit is currently being constructed that could begin production by July. Although a site hasn't been finalized, the unit is expected to be on a rail near the terminal, Long said. The 3-mmgy unit includes an oilseed crusher. Blue Sun will mainly utilize locally grown canola and mustard as as production feedstocks.
