The board of directors of the Biomass Thermal Energy Council officially announced the appointment of Jeff Serfass to take over for Joel Stronberg as BTEC's executive director. Serfass has led the organization in its formative years in 2009 and 2010 and has continued to provide guidance as BTEC's senior advisor.

Dan Wilson, BTEC chairman, stated that "BTEC is excited to have Jeff as our executive director. His experience in managing clean energy organizations is unparalleled, and he knows the industry well, having been involved with BTEC since its founding."

Christine Donovan, vice chair of BTEC, added that "Joel Stronberg has done good work for BTEC in advancing our policy agenda and in leading biomass thermal relations at a number of federal agencies. We wish Joel well as he seeks work in biomass thermal and other energy areas."

"I am honored to take on the leadership of the organization at this critical time. The array of our highly visible programs for government affairs, technical affairs, standards, and education is impressive, and I am fully committed to creating value-added outcomes that will lead the industry to sustained growth," Serfass elaborated.
