Bulkin joins Ze-gen's board of directors

Dr. Bernard J. Bulkin, a leading voice on energy and environmental issues, has joined Boston-based Ze-gen Inc.'s board of directors. Bulkin will serve as VantagePoint Venture Partners' representative on Ze-gen's board, replacing Scott Brown as VantagePoint's representative on the board.

Bulkin joined VantagePoint, a cleantech venture firm, in 2003 and was previously a chief scientist for British Petroleum. He also serves as chairman of AEA Technology PLC and Swedish-based Chemrec AB; and is a board member of Severn Trent PLC and Accelergy Corp.

In the public sector, Bulkin serves as Commissioner for Energy and Transport with the United Kingdom Sustainable Development Commission and is a member of the U.K. Government's Energy Board.

Ze-gen develops advanced gasification technology to convert wood debris and other solid waste streams into syngas. The company is currently operating a commercial-scale demonstration gasification facility in New Bedford, Mass.
