China's Commerce Ministry has announced it will extend an anti-dumping investigation of U.S. distillers grains. The new deadline has been set for June 28. “We had not heard anything about it since September, so were not surprised to hear it,” said Sean Broderick, DDGS Marketing manager at CHS.

The investigation was first announced Dec. 28, 2010. In 2010 China rocketed to the top of the list of DDGS importers, bringing in 3.1 million metric tons of the feed product. The pace of DDGS imports to China did slow in 2011. The U.S. Grains Council reported in early December that U.S. shipments of DDGS from January to September were down 49 percent but that China was still the No. 2 export market for the product.

An anti-dumping investigation on imports of photographic paper and paper board from the European Union, U.S. and Japan was also extended by three months.
