Minneapolis-based Crown Iron Works recently signed a contract to design a 100,000-tons-per-year (27 MMgy) turnkey biodiesel and glycerin refining facility located in Kuantan Port, Malaysia. The plant, which started construction May 18, according to Finance Director Peter Williams, will use crude palm oil as a feedstock. The plant's owner, Australia-based Mission Biofuels, has secured a five-year off-take agreement for 250,000 tons of the biodiesel. Mission Biofuels also has a five-year contract for feedstock supply.
