Carbon Green LLC and Environmental Credit Corp. have entered into an agreement with Benson, Minn.-based Chippewa Valley Ethanol Co., which will allow Carbon Green and Environmental Credit to develop greenhouse gas credits for CVEC's renewable energy use and fuel production.
CVEC is a co-op owned biorefinery that produces 47 MMgy of ethanol.
In April, Frontline BioEnergy LLC announced the start-up of a biomass gasifier at CVEC's Benson facility, which is expected to displace 90 percent of the plant's natural gas usage by burning cobs, corn stover, grass, liquid injection oil, fiber and bran from fractionation, as well as distillers dried grains with solubles.
In a press release, Carbon Green said the company is "able to facilitate relationships between its clients and other industry players, including technology and energy experts, to reduce its clients' carbon footprint while increasing profitability."
Carbon Green develops and manages high quality greenhouse gas credits. Environmental Credit is a leading supplier of environmental credits to global financial markets.
