Eagle BioDiesel comes online

December 21, 2009

Eagle BioDiesel Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 19 for its new 5 MMgy plant in Kane, Pa. The plant began shipping biodiesel in September. "We think we are in the best location in the state," Bob Howard, vice president, said. The plant is situated midway between two Pennsylvania refineries and near a major fuel distributor, strategically placed for when the state's B2 mandate takes effect in May. Pennsylvania also has adopted a 75 cent-per-gallon incentive for biodiesel. The company is using Schroeder Biofuels' Cold Clear filtration process to improve the cold flow properties of its biodiesel made from yellow grease and soy oil, and has become a distributor.
