Happy Holidays

December 22, 2008

BY Susanne Retka Schill

This will be a short week for those in the ethanol industry. With that, this will be a short blog post. With the holiday break later this week, it's likely many will be spending some well-deserved time off with their family and friends. With that in mind, I simply want to wish everyone happy holidays and safe travels.

I'd also like to give a slightly premature congratulation to Tharaldson Ethanol. The 100 MMgy plant in Casselton, N.D., is expected to begin its first corn grind the week following Christmas. The plant is a snapshot of the industry itself in 2008—it's faced several hurdles but has persevered to production. Best of luck during start-up. The plant will be the U.S. industry's 185th to start production.
