Iowa funds three E85 pumps

July 20, 2007

Iowa will get three new E85 retail pumps, thanks to the state's most recent round of Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Grants announced in June. According to the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, two stations in Council Bluffs received a $5,000 grant and a $30,000 grant, respectively, while one in Sheldon received a $30,000 grant, as well. The goal of the three-year program, which began in 2006 through legislation, is to aid in opening 30 E85 pumps. So far, a total of 27 E85 pumps have been funded.
