January 1, 1970

Lignol Innovations Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Vancouver-based Lignol Energy Corp., is moving forward with plans to locate a demonstration-scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Grand Junction, Colo. Lignol and its project partner Suncor Energy USA Inc. chose Grand Junction for its proximity to ample woody biomass. Lignol will provide biomass process technology, while Suncor will operate the facility. The U.S. DOE issued a $30 million grant to the $88 million project and recently gave its approval.
