Mirabito Energy Products to Supply Biodiesel To Tompkins County, NY

(Ithaca, NY) Representatives for Mirabito Energy Products took part in the formal announcement of a biodiesel bid award presented by Tompkins County, NY.

A news conference was held Thursday, April 16 at 11:00am, at the Tompkins County Highway Division offices, 170 Bostwick Road, Ithaca, NY. The event celebrated the launch of biodiesel use in Tompkins County and illustrated the county's strong commitment to the environment and energy security.

Mirabito Energy was presented the winning bid in support of a Tompkins County Finance Department RFP for biodiesel fuel. The "B20" fuel will be used initially to support vehicles in the Tompkins County Highway Division, Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport, Town of Dryden and Cornell University. "B5" will also be distributed to Ithaca College.

Mirabito's high-quality B20 is a mixture of 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent standard petroleum diesel.

"Biodiesel is a very easy way for our country to lessen its dependence on foreign oil-producing countries and at the same time offer a more environmentally- friendly fuel for consumers to use," said Joseph P. Mirabito, Chief Executive Officer of Mirabito Energy Products. "We are pleased to be able to support this initiative in Tompkins County, NY."

The county took its first delivery of B20 last week.
