Missouri farmer breaks soybean record

January 10, 2007

Kip Cullers of Purdy, Mo., set a world record by growing an average of 139.39 bushels of soybeans per acre in the 2006 Missouri Soybean Association yield contest. There is no national soybean yield contest, but USDA records indicate no grower has ever come close to Cullers' mark. Cullers grew his record crop using Pioneer seed variety 94M80 on an irrigated and conventionally tilled field.
