Atlanta-based automaker Carbon Motors Corp. intends to produce a purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle capable of running on biodiesel. The rear-wheel-drive vehicle will be powered by a 300-horsepower, clean-diesel engine and a six-speed transmission that will help it reach top speeds of 155 mph with a useful life target of 250,000 miles. A carbon council consisting of law enforcement officials representing all types of agencies in the United States and Canada has been formed to advise the company.
