Leading members of the biofuels industry in the northwestern United States have joined together to form the Northwest Biofuels Association (NWBA). The organization represents the interests of producers, distributors and retailers of biodiesel in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Due to a growing demand for information, NWBA will focus its initial efforts on promoting the growth of the biofuels market by providing a centralized, credible information source and voice for the industry, and by helping to build the industry network. The majority of membership is held by biodiesel companies, according to Robert Grott, coordinator of the NWBA and the executive director of the Northwest Environmental Business Council. The NWBA held an exploratory meeting in May, but has not held its first official meeting yet, Grott said. For a membership application or to learn more about the NWBA, visit
