Oscars go green

In one of the most recent and glamorous examples of the worldwide "green" movement, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced in February that it had sought environmentally friendly supplies and services for its awards extravaganza, the Oscars. According to the Oscars Web site, event planners sought guidance and assistance from the Natural Resources Defense Council, a nonpartisan environmental and advocacy organization, to reduce the awards show's ecological footprint.
