July 14, 2008
Pinnacle Biofuels Inc., a new 10 MMgy biodiesel plant in Crosset, Ark., began production May 12. Currently, the facility uses locally available chicken fat and soybean oil (75 percent of production capacity), but it has capabilities to utilize a variety of animal fats and vegetable oils. The plant is utilizing a Greenline Industries Waterless Processing System. On June 2, GreenHunter Energy announced the inauguration of the company's Renewable Fuels Campus, which includes a new biodiesel refinery. The plant, now the largest in the United States, is capable of producing 105 MMgy and will use animal fats and vegetable oils as feedstocks.
