The nation’s largest advanced biofuel company celebrated its recent initial public offering (IPO) at the NASDAQ in a closing bell ceremony on April 25 recognizing shareholders, the board of directors, employees and client service providers.

Iowa-based Renewable Energy Group went public in their initial public offering Jan. 18, and celebrated the occasion with Chairman of the Board Jeff Stroburg, President and CEO Daniel J. Oh, and members of the Renewable Energy Group team at the NASDAQ in Times Square in New York City.

“The biodiesel we produce is an important alternative as crude oil prices remain high and our nation works to meet energy security and cleaner air goals with lower carbon fuels,” Oh said. “We are proud to play a role in our nation’s energy complex as an industry-leading biorefining company offering rapid growth opportunities.”

Renewable Energy Group is the largest producer of biodiesel, an advanced biofuel, in the U.S. based on gallons produced. Utilizing an integrated value chain model, the company is focused on converting natural fats, oils and greases into advanced biofuels.

During 2011, the company sold approximately 150 million gallons of biodiesel and had total revenues of $824 million. Renewable Energy Group operates a network of six biodiesel plants, with an aggregate nameplate production capacity of 212 MMgy and employs nearly 260 full-time, green-collar employees nationwide.
