Renewable groups set global goals

January 10, 2007

Renewable energy advocates came to an international agreement at the Great Wall Renewable Energy Forum in Beijing to promote an increase in the use of renewable energy to 25 percent of the global energy supply by 2025. Leaders of four nongovernmental organizations from Europe, the United States and China, including the American Council on Renewable Energy, signed a memorandum of understanding to assess the feasibility of their goals and the policy changes that would be needed to achieve them. A joint report will be issued in 2007.
