Sebelius, Heineman take reins of GEC

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman became chairwoman and vice chairman, respectively, of the Governor's Ethanol Coalition (GEC) on Jan. 1. One of the GEC's first actions of the year was to issue a letter asking the USDA and the U.S. DOE to participate in a study that would examine the best way to achieve expansion of the nation's biofuels industry.
The GEC held its January meeting via conference call and plans to meet in-person in Washington D.C., on Feb. 28-March 1
