Springboard Biodiesel LLC, based in Chico, Calif., announced May 1 it has acquired BioPro, a family of automated biodiesel processors and accessories from AGR LLC, also based in Chico, Calif.

Springboard Biodiesel will be the sole manufacturer of the entire BioPro product line. In conjunction with U.S. and international dealers, Springboard will continue to sell, distribute and provide warranty support for all BioPro products.

Mark Roberts, chief executive officer of Springboard Biodiesel, said given the economic and environmental benefits of biodiesel fuels, and the superior price performance demonstrated by the BioPro product family, there is significant headroom as the company moves forward. "We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to further build upon the success that AGR has demonstrated with its family of high quality, fully automated BioPro processors," Roberts said.

The BioPro 150, BioPro 190, and BioPro 380 are used by consumers, co-ops, small businesses and farmers to produce ASTM D6751 quality biodiesel in small amounts ranging from 40 gallons to 100 gallons at a cost of approximately $1.25 per gallon. Springboard Biodiesel reports the market reception for the automated, industrial grade processors has been strong, with record demand seen both domestically and internationally over the last 12 months.
