ICM, Inc. announced today that all deliverables are on schedule to meet the aggressive Feb. 1 timeline it has set for the new energy center it is constructing for Tharaldson Ethanol. Normally a 10-month project, ICM has condensed the manufacture, construction, installation, and start-up of this quad-dryer, dual RTO system to a four-month window to enable its customer to resume operations as quickly as possible. Located just west of Casselton, N.D., Tharaldson was designed to manufacture 110 million gallons of ethanol per year. However, third-party designed technology and equipment limitations prevented this one-year-old facility from ever reaching that production rate. Needing an immediate solution and trustworthy
solution provider, Tharaldson sought out ICM's turnkey service to upgrade this facility. This new ICM-designed drying system will dramatically optimize plant operations and profitability, and facilitate job sustainability for a rural community with a rich farming tradition.

As the general contractor, ICM is conducting a full retrofit of the energy center, which includes engineering, design, equipment manufacture, and construction. ICM is pouring the concrete; setting the equipment; and providing structural steel fabrication, water utilities, steam, and natural gas connections. The project also includes routing the syrup to the dryers. ICM will extend the electrical power and control from existing motor
control centers (MCCs). ICM will install and start up the equipment, as well as provide extensive training for the plant's employees.

Dave Vander Griend, president and CEO of ICM, sees this project as a testament to ICM's ability to deliver exceptional solutions to the renewable fuel industry, not just ethanol plants designed by ICM. He said, "We're very pleased that Tharaldson Ethanol chose ICM to retrofit its facility. We share Tharaldson's goal of 'Fueling Freedom on the Farm,' and we're working around the clock to help these hard-working folks bring their operations on line and keep their people employed. We're very eager to leverage our capabilities as an experienced turnkey supplier and deliver solutions for new customers."

He continued, "On the heels of celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded how grateful I am for each of the loyal customers we've worked with in our 30 years in this industry. In fact, it was our customers' testimonials about ICM's simple, yet robust system and dedicated support that helped us win this new project."

Like Vander Griend, Kory Wilson, senior project manager for ICM, is appreciative of the opportunity to work with Tharaldson, and for the jobs the project is sustaining during this difficult economy. "Along with all the Colwich (Kan.) office and shop staff resources ICM is dedicating to make this quick-turn project happen for Tharaldson, we began running double shifts at the site starting Nov. 23. We're expecting up to 80 people on days and another 40 taking over the night shift." He continued, "We appreciate the fact that Tharaldson's management has placed their trust in ICM, and all hands are on deck to help them achieve their goals."

Kyle Newman, senior vice president of Tharaldson Ethanol said,"When it comes to drying system technology, reliability and performance, ICM's Energy Center goes unmatched."
