U.K.'s Greenergy, Tesco partner

June 1, 2005

In the United Kingdom, renewable fuels provider Greenergy Fuels Ltd. and one of its shareholders, Tesco, have forged an important new partnership-primarily a situation of financial backing-that will reportedly enable Greenergy to proceed with its plan to build the U.K.'s largest single-line biodiesel plant and extend its existing European biodiesel supply operations.

The plant will be located in the city of Immingham. Scheduled to come on line in the second quarter of 2006, the facility will initially have a production capacity of 100,000 metric tons of biodiesel per year. Rapeseed will be the plant's primary feedstock.

"We are very pleased that this partnership with Greenergy has resulted in the development of the U.K.'s largest single-line biodiesel plant," said Tesco's Daniel Quinn. "The availability of GlobalDiesel at 23 Tesco stores across the U.K. means many customers can do their bit for the environment. This plant will help the growth of the biofuels market in the U.K."
