July 1, 2006

Greenergy International Ltd., a London fuel supplier that offers biofuels, said the company saved more than 40,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the first quarter of 2006, according to Alex Lewis, head of communications for Greenergy. The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Management made the assessment based on the sale of about 4.5 million gallons of biofuels sold by the company during that time period. The British government has proposed companies should supply details of carbon savings.
