Kent Yeo joined the U.S. Grains Council on March 19 as the regional ethanol consultant for Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, Yeo will help spearhead ethanol programs and promotional efforts throughout the region.

Prior to joining the Council, Yeo served as the senior trading manager for oil products with Wanxiang Resources. He has also held numerous senior positions in companies including Mabanaft, Trafigura, Hin Leong and Kuo Oil.

“This consultant position is a direct result of increased ethanol funding and our ongoing efforts to expand the use of U.S. ethanol in this dynamic region of the globe,” said Manuel Sanchez, USGC regional director for Southeast Asia.

“Kent’s experience, built over the course of his career as a fuel oil trader, has allowed him to cultivate a deep and extensive network as well as a strong reputation in the market.”

Yeo’s position is part of the Council’s expanded engagement in U.S. ethanol export market development in Southeast Asia – a priority, given the potential for exports to the region and the resulting new corn grind those exports could generate.
