Virginia utility starts biodiesel pilot program

Bristol Virginia Utilities (BVU), which provides utility services to local residents and businesses, has announced its decision to start using soybean-based biodiesel in a majority of its fleet vehicles, ranging from heavy-duty to lighter utility trucks. According to the company, BVU will start its pilot program with a 5 percent biodiesel blend with the intent to work up to B20 by mid-2006. If successful, BVU will expand its B5 use to all fleet vehicles.
