The Searle Biodiesel Program at Loyola University Chicago focuses on production, research, and outreach efforts centered on utilizing waste products to create energy. Our products are designed to utilize university and lab waste to make usable products with the long-term goal of establishing a Zero Waste Process. Our student-run enterprise was the first school operation licensed to sell biodiesel in the United States and has been in operation since 2007.

Vance Bioenergy Sdn. Bhd.
Vance Bioenergy Sdn. Bhd. is a leading ISO 9001 certified producer of fatty acid methyl ester (Vance Biodiesel), pharmaceutical-grade refined glycerine (Vance Refined Glycerine) and other oleochemicals for use in many industries. Its production plants are located in Pasir Gudang Industrial Estate and Tanjung Langsat Industrial Complex within Johor, Malaysia. Vance Bioenergy benefits from its close proximity to Johor Port with its significant storage and berthing facilities, to ship products efficiently around the world at competitive prices. On two independent facilities, Vance Bioenergy has three methyl ester plants totaling 450,000 metric tons of annual production capacity and two of the largest single standing glycerine refineries in Asia producing 40,000 metric tons of pharmaceutical-grade refined glycerine per annum. Vance Bioenergy supplies both 1st generation and 2nd generation waste-based biodiesel such as Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME) with International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC). Our biodiesel meets EN14214/ASTM6751/MS2008 specifications.
VERBIO Diesel Canada
Verbio Diesel Canada is the 45 million gallon per year biodiesel facility located in Welland, Ontario (Canada). The plant is a wholly-owned subsidiary of VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG and has been operating since August 2019. The plant is currently designed to run on canola and soybean oil and produces crude glycerin and biodiesel transportation fuel as outputs.
