The Brazilian plant has a capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year and is supplying the regional market. Production started at the end of 2011 and the plant has been continuously performing. It's BASF's first sodium methylate plant in South America.

UK researcher develops microbubble algae dewatering system


The research team led by chemical and biological engineering professor Will Zimmerman developed an inexpensive method to produce microbubbles that float algae cells to the surface of the solution, which makes harvesting easier, cheaper and faster.
