Biox says its new biodiesel plant will be built in NY Harbor


Canadian company Biox Corp. is developing a new biodiesel plant in New York Harbor, which will be its second biodiesel production facility. The announcement was made as part of the company's financial results for the quarter ending March 31.

Renewable Energy Group reports first-quarter financial results


REG revenues were $188.2 million, an increase of 80 percent compared to revenues of $104.4 million for the same period in 2011. Adjusted EBITDA was $12.7 million, an increase of 140 percent compared to $5.3 million for the same period last year.

Iowa dedicates $1 million more for renewable fuels infrastructure


The Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Board is accepting applications through May 18 for cost-share funding (about $1 million) to assist with the installation of ethanol and biodiesel equipment at retail stations and wholesale distribution centers.

Minnesota, Arizona sign new biofuel legislation into law


Minnesota and Arizona recently passed new laws related to biofuels. In Minnesota, the 2012 Omnibus Agriculture Policy bill extends exceptions to the state's biodiesel mandate for three more years. In Arizona, two new laws aid the growth of algae.

UK-based Agri opens state-of-the-art biodiesel plant in Liverpool


The 4.2 MMgy biodiesel plant has been constructed on a Brownfield site, which has a history of reprocessing oils and fats going back more than 150 years. To this end, Agri has been able to regenerate an area of Liverpool and create green jobs.
