REG completes acquisition of Imperium biodiesel plant, terminal


The acquisition of Imperium Renewables' assets by Renewable Energy Group has been completed. The assets include a 100 MMgy biodiesel plant, now called REG Grays Harbor LLC, and deep-water port terminal at the Port of Grays Harbor, Washington.

Using a new technique, scientists examined microalgae strains in the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, an internationally important algal store based at SAMS in Oban, to find out which ocean-based strains had the highest oil content.

Propel Fuels began offering Neste Oil's NExBTL renewable diesel Aug. 12 at 13 Southern California locations serving Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and the Inland Empire. Marketed as Diesel HPR, the fuel consists of 98.5 percent NExBTL.

Poll: Voters want presidential candidates who support biodiesel


An independent public opinion poll commissioned by the IBB shows 76 percent of Iowa voters support expanding the RFS to increase biodiesel use. A majority of voters also said a presidential candidate's view on the RFS is important to their vote.
