New York governor signs bill requiring biodiesel in heating oil


Legislation signed Sept. 13 by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo requires Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties to follow New York City's lead by blending at least 5 percent biodiesel (B5) into all home heating oil sold by July 1, 2018.

Registration opens for 2017 no-harm test of biodiesel stabilizers


Germany's AGQM has opened registration for its latest round of no-harm tests on oxidation stabilizers for biodiesel. The no-harm tests ensure that additives do not cause negative interactions with the fuels. Registration is open until Oct. 15.

Biodiesel improves air quality at Great Smoky Mtns. Nat'l Park


In 2016, the park's biodiesel use resulted in a 15 percent reduction in carbon dioxide; 12 percent reduction in carbon monoxide; 20 percent reduction in both hydrocarbon and sulfur dioxide; and a 12 percent reduction in particulate matter.
