Germany’s foreign trade of biodiesel at record level


The German Federal Statistical Office has confirmed Germany’s brisk foreign trade of biodiesel. The total volume amounted to around 3 million metric tons (approximately 900.6 million gallons), with imports showing a striking growth.

The Finnish Parliament approved a law Feb. 6 that sets a gradually increasing 30 percent biofuels target for 2030. Furthermore, the law sets a world-leading advanced biofuels target of 10 percent in 2030. Biofuel producer UPM welcomed the decision.

Aemetis announced that Universal Biofuels has built distribution tanks and other infrastructure to begin sales of biodiesel to retail fuel stations from its Kakinada, India, plant. The government recently approved retail sale of biodiesel in India.

Next Renewable Fuels, Shell enter long-term offtake agreement


Next Renewable Fuels and Shell Trading (US) Co. have entered a long-term purchase and sale agreement for renewable diesel from NRF’s planned Port Westward, Oregon, facility. The company plans to make 600 million gallons a year beginning in 2021.
