Canada passes renewable fuels standard

On June 26, the Canadian Senate passed Bill C-33, which will require the use of 5 percent renewable content in gasoline by 2010 and 2 percent renewable content in diesel fuel by no later than 2012.READ MORE

USDA NASS reports soybean planting up 17 percent

Midwestern flooding in late May and early June sent the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service back to the field to reinterview approximately 1,200 farmers June 23-25 in flood-affected areas. U.S. farmers intend to harvest 96.8 percent of their planted soybean acres - up 17 percent from last year. Prior to the additional survey information, NASS estimated that 98.7 percent of soybean acres would be harvested.READ MORE
