EPA to release 2023 RFS proposed rule by Nov. 30 The U.S. EPA and Growth Energy filed a notice with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Nov. 4 agreeing to extend the Nov. 16 deadline for the release of a proposed rule to set 2023 RFS RVOs. Biodiesel, renewable diesel reduce emissions in California Clean Fuels Alliance America on Oct. 28 hailed California’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory for 2020, which reported a 16 percent decrease in transportation carbon emissions due in part to increasing use of biodiesel and renewable diesel. 	USDA: US biodiesel exports up in September The U.S. exported 94,391.3 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater in September, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Nov. 3. IEA report outlines growth potential for liquid biofuels The International Energy Agency on Oct. 27 released its World Energy Outlook 2022. The report, in part, predicts global biofuel consumption could more than double by 2030 and continue to increase through 2050. READ MORE SHARE
CVR Energy ramps up renewable diesel production CVR Energy Inc. has reported its renewable diesel unit at the Wynnewood refinery in Oklahoma continued to increase production during the third quarter. A feedstock pretreatment unit is expected to be operational next year. READ MORE SHARE
Marathon: Martinez conversion to be mechanically complete in 2022 Marathon Petroleum Corp. on Nov. 1 confirmed that phase 1 of the renewable diesel conversion project at the company’s Martinez refinery in California is expected to be mechanically complete by the end of 2022. READ MORE SHARE
	EIA: US biofuel capacity reaches 21.37 billion gallons in August Total U.S. operable biofuels production capacity was down slightly in August, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on Oct. 31. Feedstock consumption for August was down when compared to the previous month, but up when compared to August 2021. READ MORE SHARE
USDA seeks public input on IRA’s biofuel infrastructure funding The USDA will host a virtual listening session on Nov. 3 that focuses on Section 22003 of the Inflation Reduction Act, which provides $500 million in biofuels infrastructure funding. Shell acquires waste oil recycling company EcoOils Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shell plc, has acquired EcoOils Ltd., a waste oil recycling firm. Topsoe technology to be installed at Canadian biorefinery Topsoe has been selected by Federated Co-operatives Ltd. to officially support the production of renewable diesel in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
