Drax completes sale of natural gas-fueled assets

Drax on Feb. 1 announced that it has completed the sale of its natural gas-fueled power generation assets. The company also said it will end commercial coal generation on March 31, with formal closure of its remaining coal assets in September 2022.

UK bioenergy generation up in Q3

The U.S. EIA on Jan. 12 released is Short-Term Energy Outlook for January, which features the agency's first short-term predictions for 2022. The EIA currently predicts electricity generation from renewables will continue to increase.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released data showing U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 800,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in September, with sales reaching 870,000 tons.
Pinnacle announces extended off-take contract in Japan

Pinnacle Renewable Energy on Jan. 7 announced that it has entered into an extension of a long-term, take-or-pay off-take contract with Mitsubishi Corp. Ltd. Deliveries under the agreement will begin in the first quarter of 2023.
