ABW, FEW underway in St. Louis

The Advanced Biofuels Workshop got underway today with the president of the Advanced Biofuels Association, Michael Mc Adams, addressing the group. "The biofuels industry needs to work together," he said, commenting that too often the message gets confused in Washington as the different organizations representing the different emerging biofuels each present their concerns. The main points his organization stresses is the need for technology neutrality, feedstock sustainability and subsidy parity.

The ABW is a one-day workshop dedicated to advanced biofuels with a program covering fuels such as renewable diesel, biobutanol and a bit on cellulosic ethanol. Cellulosic ethanol is a track of its own in the educational program for the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo which opens tonight.

As always, the FEW program is packed with a great lineup of industry speakers and as I write over 350 exhibits are being set up in the expo. It's a great time to experience the breadth of companies that serve the ethanol industry. The best part for the staff of EPM will be hearing and meeting the people in person that we correspond with in emails and interview over the phone.

Watch for coverage of the speakers at the FEW in the web news posted over the next few days.
