Delek U.S. Holdings Inc. on Aug. 6 announced it has idled its biodiesel plants located in Crossett, Arkansas; Cleburne, Texas; and New Albany, Mississippi. The decision to idle the facilities was driven by the decline in the overall biodiesel market, the company said.
The decision to idle the three biodiesel plants was made during the second quarter, according to Delek. The facilities are expected to remain idle while the company explores viable and sustainable alternatives. Those alternatives could include restarting operations if market conditions improve, marketing the plants for sale, or permanently closing the facilities, Delek said in its second quarter financial report.
