July 23 U.S. Ethanol Industry Produces All-Time Monthly Record in June

August 1, 2003

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) announced that the U.S. ethanol industry set an all-time monthly production record in June, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Numbers indicated that 181,000 barrels per day (b/d) were produced. The previous all-time record was 179,000 b/d in April.

Production was up 47 percent compared to last June when 123,000 b/d of ethanol were produced.

"The rapidly rising demand for grain created by the nation's fastest growing energy resource – ethanol – is providing a real economic stimulus at a time when it is desperately needed in rural America," said Bob Dinneen, RFA president.
