Mascoma Corp. names CTO, VP of R&D

Mascoma Corp. recently hired two new executives. Andrew Richard was named chief technology officer. He will advance the company's technology and cellulosic ethanol processes through R&D and the commercial market. Richard was previously employed by SunOpta BioProcess Group. David Hogsett, an engineering professor at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, was hired as vice president of R&D. He will head the new R&D lab in the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center.

The lab is part of a recently announced partnership with Mascoma and Dartmouth. An exclusive worldwide license agreement allows Mascoma to utilize several patents from Dartmouth. Mascoma also sponsors research at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering.
