Missouri-based company to construct ethanol plants

Newly formed company Alternative Energy Sources Inc. (AES), headed by former Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) employees, recently announced plans to build two ethanol facilities in Boone County, Iowa, and Kankakee, Ill. Each is expected to produce 110 MMgy beginning in fall 2008, according to AES COO Lee Blank. Blank and Mark Beemer, president and CEO, formed AES in June, and then hired Executive Vice President and Director of Operations John A. Ward in September. All formerly held management positions at ADM. AES also named John J. Holland, formerly with Butler Manufacturing Co., executive vice president and CFO.
