New Zealand rolls out new set of fuel specs, bans MTBE in 2003

New Zealand rolled out a new set of fuel specifications aimed at aligning its regulations with international standards, Associate Minister of Energy Paul Swain announced last week. Swain announced MTBE will be banned in the country, beginning March 2003. Coincidentally, the
government will now allow refiners to blend ethanol in gasoline up to 10 percent.
