New Jersey-based Newark Liberty International Airport will provide biodiesel at the soon-to-be-built Super Station. In mid-July Gaz Realty Inc. announced that it has been awarded the right to design, construct and operate a Super Station at the airport. The development will include a gas station, convenience story, car wash, light auto repair and towing service.
"This will be the first site of many offering a more environmentally friendly fuel like biodiesel," said Alan Abi Zeid, vice president of development for Gaz Realty. "The Port Authority of New York / New Jersey liked this aspect of our proposal and we are excited to implement it."
Gaz Realty is a growing Super Station and office space developer in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania tri-state area. When it opens in early 2009, the Newark airport facility will be the ninth station opened by Gaz Realty. Zeid said they already offer E10 at the eight other stations. The Newark airport facility will be the test site for offering biodiesel blends. "We will most likely be offering B20, but we are about nine months away from opening this site, so we are considering other blends."
