Japan Airlines Co. Ltd, Showa Sangyo Co. Ltd., Boso oil and fat Co. Ltd, Phytochem Products Inc. and Tohoku University have jointly announced the commencement of a biodiesel demonstration project at Yamagata Airport.
American Airlines and Google on June 9 announced a record-breaking agreement for sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc), representing the largest publicly announced SAFc agreement between an airline and a single corporate customer to date.
Compliance credits for biomass-based diesel and ethanol have doubled in value since the start of this year. The credits, known as RINs, have increased in price, mostly because of higher U.S. biofuel blending targets.
The U.S. EIA increased its forecast for 2026 biodiesel production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook. The production forecasts for renewable diesel and “other biofuels,” defined include sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), were maintained.
The U.S. exported 19,808.6 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater in April, according to data released by USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on June 9. U.S. biodiesel imports were at 565.5 metric tons for the month.
