Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor is among those scheduled to testify during a joint subcommittee hearing on biofuels in the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology on July 25. The hearing, titled “Examining the Advancements in Biofuels: Balancing Federal Research and Market Innovation,” will be held by Subcommittee on Environment and the Subcommittee on Energy.
The hearing aims to examine federal funding of biofuel projects and the impact on the private market. According to the committee, the hearing will also focus on the government’s role in biofuels research and how to promote policies that drive innovation in the private sector.
In addition to Skor, the hearing is expected to feature testimony from Paul Gilna, director of the BioEnergy Science Center and deputy-division director of biosciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; John DeCicco, research professor at the University of Michigan Energy Institute; and Nicolas Loris, Herbert and Joyce Morgan research fellow at the Institute for Economic Freedom and Opportunity at the Heritage Foundation.
“I am honored by the subcommittees’ invitation to present on behalf of the ethanol industry,” Skor said.
