State legislative update

More than 120 biodiesel bills have been introduced in 31 states this session. Four states have already passed bills into law this year:

-Kentucky-State income tax credit for biodiesel producers and
blenders
-Mississippi-Per-gallon grant to producers of ethanol and biodiesel
-South Dakota-Tax benefit for biodiesel production facilities
-Virginia-A study on biodiesel development authorized in the state States to watch:
-Illinois-11 biodiesel bills would provide infrastructure assistance, enhance state and school fleet use, and provide incremental cost
assistance
-Indiana-Seven bills encourage production, blending and retail sales of biodiesel fuel, investment in production facilities, state fleet
use and electricity generation from renewable sources
-Iowa-Six bills seek to enhance the use of biodiesel by state and local government fleets, and provide funding for biodiesel distribution
and storage infrastructure
-Missouri-Six bills would enhance to the Missouri Qualified Biodiesel Producer Incentive Fund, propose a B2 requirement and
extend the incremental cost assistance program for school districts
-North Dakota-Legislation would provide funding to encourage biodiesel production in the state

Other states with considerable activity include Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, California, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
